Greg Caldwell was raised mostly in Arizona. The second of four children, Greg and his siblings were introduced to the performing arts at a young age. While living in Tucson, Arizona, Greg’s parents operated a company providing medical services to movie sets and Greg, with his older sister Andrea, often tagged along and quickly fell in love with acting.
Greg and his sister worked on such movies as “Major League”, “Tombstone”, “Red River”, and the HBO movie series “Desperado”. Greg and Andrea quickly became addicted to performing, Andrea focusing mostly on dance while Greg became an actor and singer.

Greg worked semi-professionally in the theatre throughout high school playing such roles as the Caterpillar in “Alice and Wonderland”,  Puck in “A Mid Summer Nights Dream”, Kiniky in “GREASE”, and Will in “Oklahoma”.
After graduating high school in 2000 Greg went on tour with Up with Peoples “A Common Beat” playing the Conductor. This six month national tour performed in over 50 cities with over 100 performances.  After coming off the road in December of 2000 Greg auditioned for and was hired by Walt Disney Entertainment in Orlando, Florida.

Greg moved to Florida in Jan. 2001 and quickly started performing in such shows as “Disney Presents Beauty and the Beast” as the Beast, “The Festival of the Lion King” as Leopard, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” as a Gypsy, and “Fantasmic” as the Beast/ Prince Charming. After September 11, 2001 Greg, like many other entertainers, faced unemployment. With his contract ending in January of 2002, it was decided not to extend the contract for financial reasons.
Greg moved back to Arizona in February of 2002 and enrolled in school to become an EMT. After finishing this course Greg began working for Life Line Ambulance in Prescott, Arizona and enrolled in college at Northern Arizona University. Greg became a paramedic and firefighter while completing his degrees in English and International Relations.
During this time Greg also began working with his sister in her not-for-profit production company Stand Proud. The company toured its shows “An American Tribute”, and “It’s a Freedom Thing” in ’02, and ’03 respectively, ending each tour with performances at the Pentagon for the Sept. 11th memorial services.

After completing college Greg decided once again that the theatre was his calling so he moved to the D.C. area in March of 2006 to continue his acting career. Greg has most recently been seen in The Starving Artists production of “FARCE” as Jake/Bill/Jack, and stage managing “Thinking Under the Influence” for the D.C. Fringe festival. Greg also stared in Bottom of the Barrel productions independent film  “The Blown Years” as Greg, and Jason Baustin’s indie film “The Return Home” as Joe.

Greg is very excited about the opportunities he’s received since moving to D.C. and hopes to continue his work in the D.C. area.
